VIC – Business Development Manager

The primary responsibilities of this role will be the creation of new business revenues from both new and existing customers. We will also introduce you to Oper8 Global partners with a view to generating and closing sales opportunities. We expect competent customer record maintenance and management, this will include contract maintenance and licensing renewals and working with the finance and procurement team to ensure customer order fulfilment.

This is a multi-faceted role in a complex business, you will never be bored.

  • Identification and development of new named customers to meet monthly Sales Targets;
  • Provide input to the management and marketing teams to increase lead generation and online sales opportunities;
  • Promotion and sale of Oper8 services and products in line with Sales Targets, with particular focus on at least one of our Core Solutions:
  • Data Protection and Security
  • Data Centre Services
  • Edge and
  • IoT Solutions
  • Establish, maintain and report against a plan to achieve sales goals, with regular and consistent sales reporting and forecasting;
  • Provide feedback from customers on product improvement, marketing and service enhancements;
  • Assist in improving and/or streamlining effective Sales processes and practices across Oper8 Global;
  • Ability to effectively combine/bundle Oper8 Global Core Solutions to meet or exceed customer needs;
  • Undertake appropriate professional development to improve knowledge and expertise – develop an ongoing Professional Development Plan;
  • Ensure sales documentation, including customer proposals and contract documentation, are professional, current and appropriate for their requirement;
  • Work effectively with all members of the cross-functional team to enhance the Oper8 brand and performance of the Company;
  • Work with Oper8 Global partners and key suppliers to promote and generate sales opportunities through marketing, events and joint meetings;
  • Other duties as directed, commensurate with skills and abilities required for the position.

Self-motivated, with exceptional interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills to engage many stakeholders including customers and partners.

 

 

Education/Qualifications;

Degree level preferred, but relevant experience is critical

 

Experience;

The following are essential for the candidate to have:

  • Experience in selling in a B2B environment, with the ability to persuade and influence;
  • A history of achieving sales targets;

The following are desirable for the candidate to have:

  • Understanding of IT infrastructure solutions in the corporate world
  • Understanding of data protection solutions in the corporate world

 

Skills / Knowledge;

The following are essential for the candidate to have:

  • Ability to sell IT solutions, products and services;
  • Ability to learn new products and their unique value propositions and effectively sell value;
  • Enjoy and value working as part of a team for mutual success;
  • Ability to articulate and present complex ideas simply and effectively;
  • Excellent business documentation and proposal writing skills;
  • Understanding of CRM

  • Ability to ‘think outside the box’ in order to help align products and services to customer needs;
  • Drive to succeed with a view to promotion.
  • An eye for detail, a doer, somebody that wants to develop and drive “Team” culture;

 

Aptitude / Attributes;

  • Presents well personally, verbally and in writing
  • Strong MS Windows skillset

 

Other Requirements;

  • This role requires that the incumbent must maintain a valid Australian car driver’s licence.

 

This role may include travel to support our national and international customers. Typical travel itineraries range from 1 to 4 days.
